Getting started with AI in a small business
- Where should a small business start with AI?
- Don’t start with tools. Start with how your week actually runs. Look for a task you do every week that follows the same steps each time and takes longer than it should. That’s usually where AI helps first.
- How do I tell which tasks suit AI?
- The gains are usually in the boring tasks, like getting information into the right place at the right time. First drafts are another, such as quotes and routine emails. AI is less useful where the task depends on knowing the customer or on your own judgment. That’s why AI fit counts the most in your score.
- What makes a good first AI project?
- Something small that you can finish in a few weeks. You should notice once it’s gone, and a mistake should be easy to fix. That’s why we suggest leaving tasks that deal with customers or money until your team has had some practice checking AI’s work.
- Why does it tell me to leave some tasks?
- Because sometimes that’s the right call. Some tasks depend on you. Others aren’t worth the effort of changing yet. It’s normal to feel you should be using AI everywhere. You shouldn’t, and we’d rather say so.
- How long does it take, and what does it cost?
- 5 to 10 minutes, and it’s free. Before you see your ranking we ask for your name and contact details, so there’s somewhere to send your results. There’s no password and no card. We email you a copy to keep, whatever you decide after that.
- What happens to what I type in?
- Your name, contact details and answers come to us when you ask for your ranking, so we can read them before we call. Nothing you type is sent to an AI service. “Email me my results” sends your results to you. How we look after your details is set out in our privacy policy.
- What happens after I finish?
- Someone from Nooma Logic reads your results and gets in touch to arrange a 15-minute call. The call is free. It’s a chance to talk through your first project and work out whether we can help. If we can’t, we’ll tell you. You won’t be added to a mailing list unless you tick the box when you give your details.
